wait.

as humans, the wait
is almost incomprehensible
something that makes
our hearts unsteady
as we nervously watch
the clock countdown
as life seems to slip on by.
as humans, the wait
is almost painful
something that beckons
our hearts to be still
as we anxiously wonder
will life’s clock
tick on by.
but,
here,
here in the wait
there is something beautiful
that beckons us back
to the throne room
where our nervous hearts
surrender our future
into His hands
and, find peace in the present
knowing that there is purpose
in the waiting room.
