Tears, I do not shed
For somewhere, sometime ago
I decided that my tears
Took away my strength
And, made me
Weak before others eyes
So, I hid my emotions
Tucked them
Underneath my many hats
And, decided this:
A life without tears was
Considered best.
But, today, I discovered
That somewhere, sometime ago
My lack of tears
Took away my strength
And, kept me from
Releasing what needed to
help me mend.
So, today,
I let the tears fall
And, find my strength
in Christ alone.
