Forgetting The Former Things

Every once in a while
The past comes knocking
Like an unexpected visitor
Vying for your attention

Mistakes, conversations,
Thoughts, failures
All bottled up in the form of
This unwanted visitor called shame

But, there’s another
Who is knocking on your door, too
Listen closer
Do you hear it? Love has arrived

No longer bound by shame
The Divine whispers
You are bound to Me, instead
Will you let me in?

Forgetting the former things,
You no longer have to re-visit
What you wish to erase
For, the Sacrifice has already been paid

No longer bound to the past
You are bound, instead, to endless grace
To a sea of mercies
As far as the east is from the west
