Happiness: Here and Now

Happiness bursts through my veins
With a vivacity
That almost terrifies me
For life itself
In all of it’s chaos and mess
Is a treasure
Among the rest

Memories created
With a freedom
That makes my heart soar
Where time itself
In all of life’s to do lists
Reminds me
To rest

Words are so few
For my heart bursts within
Like a song that has
Forgotten to be sung

Where the lies
And the doubts
Have disappeared
Like weeds, their words
Have lost all life
To be buried forevermore

For my true smile has returned
Like a distant memory
That is here to stay

For this season itself
