Loneliness is real
It creeps up on you
When you least expect it
And, hits your ribcage
With such force
That makes you howl
Whether physically or emotionally
Takes you to places
You never chose to explore
With a heaviness
That makes you tired
But, you see,
The thing about loneliness
Is we have a choice
To keep our heads down
And, soak up the feelings
Of sorrow and grief
Where tears
eternally fall
Or, we can choose
To look up
And, find hope
In the fact
That the eternal
Far exceeds the temporary
Where these feelings
Of loneliness
Will gradually disappear
Like the remnants of a storm
Gone, in a moment’s time
And, replaced by
sweet tea in the summertime
