My 2017 Book List.

“Reading forces you to be quiet in a world that no longer makes place for that.”
-John Green

I can’t find the words exactly, to describe how I feel when I walk through a bookstore, but I guess I sort of feel like Nel in my first published book when she writes, “As we walked through a sea of bookshelves, I felt as though he(Mr.Levitt) was Moses, leading me into the promised land. My fingers skimmed through the shelves as the voices and footsteps of the others had disappeared deeper into the sea.”

It is a magical feeling, yet finding the right book can always be a daunting task. Wandering the bookstore for hours, you read the synopsis of about a hundred books and still don’t know where to begin. In today’s modern world, it seems that anything and everything goes, so sometimes it is quite a difficult task to find a book that will enrich, rather than take away from your intellectual and emotional life.

Since graduating from college, I’ve read a lot. In fact, I’ve read more this past year than the entirety of my college education! And, in doing so, I’ve had a lot of people message me for a book list, so I thought I would compile a list of my favourites here!

So, here is my 2017 List for both Fiction and Non-Fiction.

“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
― C.S. Lewis

9.The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis
10. The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald (because whenever you make a book list, The Great Gatsby should be included.)

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you’re all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn’t happen much, though.”
― J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
