Pray for Paris.

Fear finds me again
Brokenness shines through
the cracked doors
Tears stain my notebook
Life becomes awfully still

I want there to be no more
No more tears and no more blood
But, we are living in a world
of scattered ashes

We awake, we hear and we see
As brothers and sisters
Are taken from this earth
How much longer until
this chaos comes to an end?

Words in Revelation
transforming before our eyes
Ever the same, I’m numb
My pen breathes sorrow
Its ink like a mother in grief

Before the ending of the day
With a quiet and broken heart
I kneel and ask for grace

There is no justification
No tears will adequately express
And, nothing can give back what was taken
from us

With a broken heart, I pray
And, ask that our world may see
The need for His peace

Dear brothers and sisters
Let us pray
Pray for our nations
Pray for God’s healing,
Pray for an awakening
Pray for comfort.

Martin Luther King’s words ring in our ears
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”

Pray for Paris.
